Adult, child injured after stolen vehicle crashes into east side home during pursuit

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A mom and child are recovering after a stolen vehicle crashed into a house during a police pursuit Tuesday night.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department attempted to initiate a traffic stop after locating a stolen vehicle in the area of 4300 East 10th Street.

According to police officials, the suspect vehicle fled and officers followed.

The suspect led officers south on Grant Avenue for less than a mile when the vehicle ran a stop sign at Michigan Street.

Officers say another vehicle with a mom and infant inside was traveling west on Michigan Street when it T-boned the suspect vehicle. The suspect vehicle flipped and crashed into a nearby residence.

According to police on scene, one of the suspects was ejected from the vehicle and two others ran from the scene.

The mother and her infant were taken to Eskenazi Hospital to be checked out. The suspect who was ejected was taken to Eskenazi in critical condition.

IMPD K9 Units attempted to track down the suspects who fled but were unable to locate them. There have been no arrests at this time.
