SHELBYVILLE, Ind. – A man from Toledo, Ohio has been charged with child molestation after he allegedly took a Shelbyville teenager to a hotel room and had sex with her.

According to a Probable Cause Affidavit, 23-year-old Cory Alan Hockaday met the 13-year-old victim on Facebook around a year ago.

On Oct. 7, Hockaday took a bus from Cincinnati to Indianapolis, and then took a cab to Shelbyville, where he met the teen as she was leaving her middle school.

Hockaday allegedly tried to pick the victim up from school through the office, where he claimed to be the victim’s brother. The school didn’t allow him to pick her up and then contacted the victim’s mother.

The victim’s mother tried to call her daughter, but she didn’t answer at first. Eventually, the victim called her mother back and told her she was at a Quality Inn with Hockaday.

Police responded and found the two in the hotel room. Officers also recovered what appeared to be a bloody condom and bloody sheets.

Later, during interviews with officers, both Hockaday and the victim admitted to having sex. Hockaday was taken into custody and charged with one felony count of child molesting.
