Patriot Majority USA launches voter protection campaign in Indiana despite officials saying suppression allegations are false
Indianapolis, IN – Patriot Majority USA announced their decision to launch a statewide digital and print public awareness campaign on Tuesday.
Patriot Majority USA is a liberal advocacy group that is claiming Governor Mike Pence, his political allies, and the Indiana State Police are trying to suppress voters.
The group started airing radio ads on black-oriented stations and placing ads in black newspapers across the state this past Saturday because they say officials are predominantly trying to suppress black voters.
Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, alongside Indiana State Police, quickly responded to the group’s accusations last week, saying they’re completely false.
“It’s not accusations,” Captain David Bursten said, chief public information officer for Indiana State Police. “They’re lies.”
Patriot Majority USA launched the Indiana Voter Registration Project earlier this year with the goal of registering tens-of-thousands of Hoosiers.
Investigators searched the group’s Indianapolis headquarters earlier this month following reports of voter fraud. According to ISP, the investigation began after they were tipped off by the Hendricks County Clerk’s office to inaccuracies in registration forms.
