School placed on lockdown as police try to apprehend suspect

UPDATE: The lockdown has been lifted.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — An Indianapolis school went on lockdown Thursday morning as police tried to capture a suspect.

Frances W. Parker School 56 was placed on lockdown as a precaution. Indianapolis Metropolitan police were attempting to arrest a man after a domestic disturbance when he ran away and sought refuge inside a vacant home.

Police called in SWAT in order to get the man to come out of the building.
