INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police were investigating the circumstances surrounding a workplace shooting on the northwest side of Indianapolis Friday morning.

Someone was shot at in the parking lot for BCS Recycling at 79th Street and Zionsville Road.

Police said the person was not seriously injured and didn’t go to the hospital. Employees at the scene said a former coworker fired the shot at a supervisor; some of the employees did witness the shooting.

"It's scary because what if we would have been here five minutes earlier and everyone would have been inside?" said employee Nikki McCannon. "He could have come inside and started laying out bullets inside."

McCannon said a temporary employee got into a dispute with a supervisor a couple days ago. The employee was then fired and employees hadn't heard from him until Friday morning. She said the man pulled into the parking lot and fired at the supervisor's car while the supervisor was inside.

Police were looking for the suspect.
