IMPD investigating man’s shooting on city’s west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating the circumstances behind a shooting on the west side.

Police said a man was shot in the stomach around 5 a.m. near the front door of a home in the 1300 block of South Norfolk Street. The man was taken to Eskenazi Hospital in good condition.

One neighbors tells FOX59 the sound of a single gunshot awoke him at around 5:00 a.m. When he looked out the window, the man said he saw someone wearing dark clothing run along Norfolk St.

Minutes later, Indianapolis Metro Police Dept. officers arrived and began investigating. The scene was cleared by 7:00 a.m..

Police said several other people were inside the home when the shooting took place. They are cooperating with the investigation.
