Ben Davis' Noah Thomas and Cathedral's Luke Saum (WXIN October 28, 2016).

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –  From all the prep football action we saw Friday night across Central Indiana, two plays stood out above the rest. They are nominees for the FasTrack Mechanical Play of the Week, and your vote will determine the winner.

NOMINEE #1: BEN DAVIS’ NOAH THOMAS

Ben Davis began it's 6A playoff run on the road at Brownsburg. The host Bulldogs had a tremendous 8-1 regular season, so the Giants entered knowing early points would be important to set the tone. Ben Davis scored early and often, including from deep in their own territory, as quarterback Reese Taylor found Noah Thomas on a short pattern. Thomas shook free of a few defenders then followed his blockers down the sideline for a long touchdown, part of Ben Davis' 49-13 win over Brownsburg.

NOMINEE #2: CATHEDRAL'S LUKE SAUM

Cathedral and Lawrence North went to overtime in their 6A playoff opener. The Wildcats got the ball first and kicked a field goal to take a 38-35 lead. Cathedral needed three to tie, but went straight to the end zone for six as quarterback Quincy Keller fired a bullet to Luke Saum, who hung on to the ball despite tight coverage. The Irish move on to sectional finals as the Wildcats go home until next year.
