Police searching for car after shots fired at semi in apparent road rage incident

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Indiana State Police and Indianapolis Metropolitan police are investigating a reported shooting that stemmed from an apparent case of road rage.

According to state police, officers responded around 11 a.m. to I-70 westbound near Rural Street. The driver of a semi truck called 911 to report that someone in a passing vehicle shot at him.

The vehicle then exited off I-70 onto East Street and drove off. At least one bullet hit the truck, breaking the driver’s side window and becoming lodged into the truck’s headliner. The driver wasn’t hurt.

Police are looking for an older tan Oldsmobile Aurora with a temporary plate on the right side of the back window. State police released a photo a car similar to the one involved in the incident. The driver reported that both people inside the car were black males.
