Police: Suspect fires shots at employees after robbing east side Denny’s

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a Denny’s on the east side was robbed Thursday.

Officers responded to the restaurant located at 2490 Post Drive around 5 a.m. on a report of a robbery with shots fired.

Witnesses told police the male suspect, wearing all black, came into the restaurant with a semi-automatic handgun and walked up to the counter. He pointed the gun at the employee behind the counter and told her to give him all of the money.

She opened the register and the suspect took the entire tray of money out. As he walked backwards towards the main doors, he fired two shots towards the employees. No injuries were reported.

Police located two 9mm casings and attempted to collect fingerprints from the counter and register.
