Andrew Dart

DELAWARE COUNTY, Ind.– Police arrested a Salem man who allegedly hit and choked his own mother.

According to court documents, Andrew Dart’s mother told police they were at home having a couple of drinks when Dart started yelling and cursing at her. He got upset with her, got in her face and pushed her.

She said he pushed a coffee table against her three or four times, knocking her down onto the couch as food went all over the living room.

The mother grabbed her keys and tried to leave. At that time, Dart allegedly grabbed her by the hand, flipped her around and began to choke her with her own arm.

She told police she lost her breath for a few minutes. Dart let go and tried apologizing.

He was later arrested on charges of strangulation, battery and intimidation.
