INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- On Wednesday, Nov. 16, you can help make sure the Mozel Sanders Foundation can provide a meal to nearly 40,000 Hoosiers in need this Thanksgiving.

The organization says it still needs to raise $25,000.

For one morning only, all Hardee's locations in Indianapolis are selling its sausage biscuits for $1.

All of the proceeds from those sales will directly support the foundation.

2016 marks the 45th anniversary of the Mozel Sanders Foundation’s Thanksgiving dinner.

It will cost the group around $50,000 to provide a meal to everyone who wants one.

Organizers say the need for this program continues to grow.

One in five Hoosier families will struggle to put food on the table.

“Most folks believe it is just in Marion County or in the central area of Marion County, but it is not.  I delivered a meal in Carmel one year. It was a nice sized house and a man came to the door with three kids in the back and I had to give them meals,” said Shannon Joseph with the Mozel Sanders Foundation.

The foundation is also looking for volunteers to help prepare, package, and deliver meals on Thanksgiving Day.

The $1 Hardee's sausage biscuit promotion runs until 10:30 a.m.
