MUNCIE, Ind. – A Muncie woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on U.S. 35 Saturday morning.

Delaware County Sheriff Ray Dudley told the Muncie Star Press that Abigail R. Patterson, 27, was driving southbound when she lost control of the vehicle she was driving south of Mt. Pleasant. The vehicle then left the roadway, rolled at least twice and she was ejected.

Patterson suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the Sheriff Dudley.

The sheriff’s office says high speed and slick roads are believed to be contributing factors in the crash.

The sheriff wants to remind motorists to slow down and be sure their vehicles and tires are properly maintained as the winter driving season approaches.
