INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A 12-year-old boy riding on what police are calling a “pocket bike” or mini motorcycle was struck and critically injured Sunday.

It happened at the intersection of Belle Union Dr. and Blooming Grove Dr. on the city’s southwest side. Police believe a car traveling west bound on Belle Union struck the mini motorcycle.

When police arrived, they found Decatur Twp. medics working on the 12-year-old, who was transported to IU Health Methodist Hospital in critical condition, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan police spokesperson.
