INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Holiday travelers may have to contend with more people on the road this Thanksgiving weekend, but they won’t have to deal with interstate construction work.

INDOT says that almost all  state work zones will be suspended after noon on Wednesday, November 23,  and will resume activity either late Sunday night or early Monday morning.

Projects with long-term traffic configurations, such as the I-69 project northeast of Indianapolis, will remain with those configurations, but there will be  no construction lane closures, etc. during the holiday weekend.

Even though construction may be suspended, INDOT is reminding travelers that posted construction speeds zones will still need to be observed.
