COLUMBUS, Ind. – Most children spend their fall breaks catching up on sleep or playing video games, but this Columbus boy dedicated part of his to supporting local officers.

The boy, Isaiah, stopped by the Columbus Police Department to drop off muffins that he had baked. Police say he hoped it would lift their spirits after a string of recent incidents, in which officers were killed in the line of duty. Just Sunday, a San Antonio police officer was fatally shot in the head while writing a ticket near police headquarters.

The Columbus officers gave Isaiah a tour of the department and he got to meet several of their second shift officers at roll call.

Officers say they were very appreciative of Isaiah for “Backing the Blue” and he’s welcome back anytime.
