Harold Banks pleaded guilty to battery against a public safety official. Other charges against him were dismissed. Banks was sentenced to a year in jail, which was suspended, and a year on probation.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – An Indianapolis man was arrested early Sunday morning after police say he battered and strangled a woman, then battered an officer on the near west side.

Officers were originally called to the scene in the 3800 block of West Michigan Street around 1:07 a.m. to investigate a domestic disturbance.

The suspect, Harold Banks, has been charged with battery on a law enforcement officer, strangulation, domestic battery, battery and resisting law enforcement.

Police did not provide further information.
