Police: Woman may be responsible for passing dozens of counterfeit checks around Indy area

WESTFIELD, Ind. – Police in Westfield are asking the public to help identifying a woman wanted in connection with a forgery case.

On Oct. 18, 2016, the Westfield Police Department received information that the woman passed several counterfeit checks at local grocery stores.

Further investigation showed the woman, using the alias “Tawanna Carter,” may be responsible for dozens of similar cases around the Indianapolis area.
