Authorities searching for suspect in attempted burglary of Whiteland jewelry store

WHITELAND, Ind. – The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help them identify a suspect who attempted to burglarize a Whiteland jewelry store.

The incident occurred early Wednesday morning at the Hoosier Jewelry store in the 500 block of East Whiteland Road.

Surveillance camera captured the suspect trying to throw a rock through a window twice. The burglar then reportedly ran away when a paper delivery man drove up.

Authorities are searching for an SUV related to the incident that has a red front fender on the driver and passengers sides.
