Lockdown lifted at four Plainfield elementary schools following robbery near area

Update: The lockdown was lifted at 3:30 p.m.

PLAINFIELD, Ind. – Four Plainfield schools are currently on lockdown as police investigate a robbery near the area.

The following schools are on lockdown: Brentwood Elementary School, Clarks Creek Elementary School, Central Elementary School, and Van Buren Elementary School.

The robbery occurred in a residential area near two of the schools. The lockdown is a precautionary measure, and it may affect the schools’ release times.
