RISING SUN, Ind.– Indiana State Police say a two-vehicle crash on State Route 56, just south of Rising Sun, claimed the life of a Milan High School student.

The crash occurred around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning. State Road 56 winds along the Ohio River, southwest of Cincinnati.

Investigators say a 1990 Chevrolet truck driven by 16-year-old Dylan Levi was going southbound on State Route 56 when his vehicle crossed the center line for an unknown reason. He hit a northbound 2005 Dodge Neon driven by Micayla D. Acra, 17, of Milan, head-on.

Acra was fatally injured and pronounced dead at the scene.

Levi sustained minor injuries and has been released from the hospital.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Police said roadways were wet at the time of the collision and may have been a contributing factor in the crash.

Levi submitted to a drug and alcohol test at a local hospital, although intoxication is not suspected at this time.
