Suspect sought after bank robbery in Lafayette

LAFAYETTE, Ind.– Police in Lafayette are investigating a robbery that occurred late Saturday morning.

Officers responded to the Lafayette Community Bank located on Cougill Lane just after 11:30 a.m. Saturday on a report of a robbery. The suspect entered the bank and demanded money from multiple tellers.

The suspect later fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Police say the suspect was described as a black male, approximately 6′ tall, wearing glasses, a red sweatshirt and a hat.

No weapon was displayed during the robbery. No injuries were reported.

Detectives are also looking into any connection between this robbery and one that occurred on Nov. 18 at the Lafayette Bank and Trust in Payless on Maple Point Dr.
