UPDATE: Pedestrian identified after fatal hit-and-run on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a pedestrian was fatally struck by a car Thursday on the city’s west side.

The incident occurred at West 38th Street and North High School Road around 6:45 p.m.

Police said the driver of the car fled the scene. Friday morning IMPD provided an updated suspect vehicle description. Hit and run investigators are searching for a light colored, 2000-2006 Chevrolet Suburban with damage to the front side of the vehicle, on the passenger side.

The victim was identified Friday as Michael Hayden, 65. Police say he was crossing the street but not using a crosswalk when he was struck.
