Victim critically injured in northeast side shooting

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– Police say a person is in critical condition after a shooting on the northeast side.

Officers were called to the scene in an alley west of the 3900 block of North Butler Avenue around 1:30 p.m. An older teenage male was found suffering from several gunshot wounds.

Crews transported the victim to Sidney and Lois Eskenazi Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition.

Detectives say the victim and a friend were walking town the street in the 3900 block of Grand Avenue when a black vehicle stopped. The driver got out and started shooting at the victim and his friend.

The suspect then fled the area. No additional suspect information has been released.
