Rain forces delay of opening round of Indy 500 qualifying, track set to open back up

UPDATE: IMS officials are getting ready to reopen the track after a rain delay delayed qualifications today.

They said there will be no practice, but each driver will get once chance to qualify.

The track expects qualifying to start up at 4:30 p.m, and will stay up past the scheduled end time of 6 p.m. if necessary.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Storms moving into the area have forced IMS officials to implement a rain delay today for qualifications.
