INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Part of Lynhurst Drive was closed between Washington Street and Morris Street Wednesday morning after a water main break.

According to Citizens Energy, the 12-inch, cast-iron main was installed in 1949. Lynhurst was closed in both directions, and Citizens said repairs will take several hours.

Part of the road was flooded. Utility crews are at the scene working to make repairs.

The company has been able to shut off water to the area, and water on the roadway is starting to recede. One part of Lynhurst will likely have to be replaced because what appears to be a sinkhole has developed.
