INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A south side crash on northbound I-65 killed a Greenwood woman Saturday night.

State police say 51-year-old Traci McCracken died after being ejected from a 2006 Kia near Southport Road.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 11 p.m. When they arrived, they found McCracken unresponsive. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators believe the Kia left the roadway into a ditch along the right side of I-65 and rolled several times. At this time, no other vehicles are believed to be involved in the crash.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office will work to determine McCracken’s cause of death.

Police say it appears McCracken was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, causing her to be ejected from the vehicle.

As with all fatal crashes, a blood draw will be administered to determine if drugs or alcohol might have been a factor.
