Police investigating after body found on west side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Police are investigating after a body was found on the west side Saturday morning.

IMPD was dispatched to the 1400 block of N. Exter Ave. in reference to a person down in the roadway.

A 48-year-old male, identified as Patrick Brewer, was pronounced dead at the scene with severe facial trauma. He is reportedly from Indianapolis.

Investigators are awaiting results of an autopsy to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

However, both homicide and traffic detective are investigating the circumstances and at this time they are reportedly considering this a death investigation.

The call came in a little after 5:00 a.m.
