Update: Police search construction site Saturday morning, looking for missing child with autism in Brownsburg

UPDATE: Police and firefighters were out searching a specific area early Saturday morning for 8-year-old Shalom Lawson.

Authorities say footprints were found in mud near a construction site located at East County Road 400 North, near 900 East in Brownsburg.

A search dog was on scene, tracking the boy’s scent after sniffing the boy’s pillow case.

We’ll update the search as authorities release new information.


Shalom Lawson was last seen at 1:34 p.m. this afternoon on Watercress Way in the area of 900 E and US 136.

Shalom is described as an  African-American boy, aged 7-8, with a thin build. He has autism and may not communicate.

The child was last seen wearing a gray t-shirt possibly with some type of robot graphic and gray shorts. He was not wearing any shoes.

He is 4’7” and weighs approximately 56 lbs.

Police tell FOX59 that his family is from Louisville and they are visiting friends. They said he simply ran outside and now they can’t find him.

Authorities are asking Brownsburg residents to check the area. He may be drawn to small, tight, hidden or confined spaces, even bushes or trees.
