IMPD investigating fatal shooting on northwest side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are investigating the shooting death of a man on Indianapolis’ northwest side.

IMPD was called the scene in the 4100 block of Vinewood Ave. just after 9 p.m. Saturday.

When officers arrived, they located the male victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim, who was identified Monday as 18-year-old Geordyn Owens, was reportedly shot inside a vehicle.

After the shooting, the car rolled forward headed toward a house at the end of the street and struck another car parked in the driveway.
