FISHERS, Ind. – Police in Fishers are investigating a shooting near the area of SR 37 and E. 131st St.

Police said about 7 p.m. Thursday they received a 911 call for a person shot. Officers said they found a 18-year-old man shot behind the Which-Wich sandwhich shop. He was transported to a hospital. At last check, police said he was in critical condition.

“This is unusual this doesn’t happen all the time here in Fishers but anything can happen at any time,” Fishers Police Sgt. Tom Weger said.

Police said the suspect is believed to have fled in a blue passenger vehicle heading towards SR37. Police believe the suspect is no longer in the area.

“Obviously at 7 o’clock at night this is a pretty heavily populated area so we are hoping that somebody may have been in the area that may have seen something or heard something,” Sgt. Weger said.

Anyone who saw something is asked to call police at 317-773-1282.
