Police: 11-year-old juvenile fatally shot relative inside Kokomo home

KOKOMO, Ind. – An 11-year-old shot and killed a relative at a Kokomo home Wednesday, police say.

The shooting happened around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday in the 5200 block of Ojibway Drive. Officers were called to the address and found a man dead inside the home.

Kokomo police identified the deceased as 28-year-old Randall W. Rogers, who lived at the home. He died from a single gunshot wound to the head, police said.

Investigators said an 11-year-old relative fatally shot Rogers. The juvenile was detained at the Kinsey Youth Center on the juvenile equivalent of a voluntary manslaughter charge, police said.

The Kokomo Police Department and Howard County Coroner’s Office are investigating the case.
