MADISON CO., Ind. — Indiana State Police are investigating a fatal crash east of Markleville Saturday night.

Around 6:50 p.m., a state trooper observed a semi pulling a box trailer stopped in the west bound lane of State Road 38. The semi was backing up and across the east bound lane into a driveway on the south side SR 38.

That’s when a 2015 Ford Fusion, driven by 73-year-old Mylinh Humfleet, struck the side of the trailer and went partially underneath it.

Humfleet was transported to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Anderson, where she died from her injuries.

The semi driver was uninjured.

The investigation is ongoing.
