VIDEO: Fishers police search for masked man who robbed Subway

FISHERS, Ind. – Fishers police are searching for a pair of thieves responsible for an armed robbery that was caught on camera.

The robbery took place April 7 at a Subway on Olivia Way near Hamilton Town Center.

From beginning to end, the robbery lasted just 30 seconds. While mopping the floor around closing time, the employee found himself ambushed by an armed thief.

“You know I was very surprised because everything happened very fast,” said the victim Mo Farzad.

Surveillance video shows the crook dressed all in black jump on top of the counter where he yelled at Mo to get all the money out of the register.

“This is the first time anyone pointed a gun at me,” recalled Mo. “I was really nervous, but I just opened the register and pulled out the money.”

With a second suspect standing at the door as a lookout, Mo admits he didn’t get a good luck at either crook, because he was too afraid to look them in the face.

“I watched just the register. I was scared to lift my head. I just stayed on the register and the money,” said Mo.

After just 30 seconds, the thief ordered Mo to get on the ground and ran away.

“He said, ‘Lay down. Lay down. I shoot you. Lay down,’” said Mo.

“This is a very serious crime. This is a very violent person. We need help getting him off the streets as quickly as possible,” said Fishers police Sgt. Tom Weger.

Police say armed robberies like the one inside the Subway don’t happen very often in Fishers and praised Mo for how he handled the dangerous crime without getting hurt.

“This clerk did what we want people to do. Be safe first and foremost and comply with the demands,” said Weger.

So far no arrests have been made, but anyone with information on the suspects seen in the video is asked to contact the Fishers Police Department at 317-595-3300.
