ORIGINAL STORY:

PLAINFIELD, Ind. – Plainfield Police say a 19-year-old suspect led them on a short chase which ended when the suspect crashed his car into several vehicles at an Applebee's restaurant.

Authorities say the suspect is Joseph Fox, who initially refused to get out of his car following the crash. That led to  a short standoff before he was arrested and taken to the hospital.

Police say the chase started at a nearby parking lot, when authorities responded to reports of someone using drugs in a car. Police say when they arrived, Fox took off, leading them on a short chase. The Applebee's where the pursuit ended is at the corner of U.S. 40 and Perry Road.

Thankfully, no one was injured although there was extensive property damage to the four cars police say Fox rammed into.

"It is amazing he didn't crash into the building and thankfully all of those vehicles were unoccupied at the time," said Plainfield Police Deputy Chief Jill Lees.

Authorities did not say what kind of charges Fox may face, or describe any injuries he may have suffered.
