Police search for thieves after robbery in Irvington

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Police are investigating a robbery in Irvington.

The robbery occurred in the 5400 block of Burgess Avenue, which is near the intersection of South Brookville Road and South Ritter Avenue. It was first reported to police at 4:50 a.m.

An investigator with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) says the thieves were not armed and no one was injured. A car was stolen, but that car has been recovered.

Since January 1, the IMPD says there have been eight home robberies or burglaries in Irvington.
