INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. —  Police responded to a double shooting on Indy’s southeast side which has left one man dead, and another wounded.

According to police, the double shooting occurred in the 5300 block of Straw Hat Drive just after 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

The shootings were the result of an apparent domestic dispute, according to IMPD investigators. They say an ex-husband showed up at the home of his ex-wife, accompanied by a friend. The duo tried to get into the home, where the ex-wife lives with at least one other person.  There was a struggle as they tried to gain entry to the home, and someone inside the house shot at the ex-husband and friend, police say. Both people shot were the two men who attempted to gain entry to the home, investigators say.

One of the men was pronounced dead at the scene; the other male was critically wounded and transported to a local hospital. All people in the house are cooperating with homicide detectives, according to a police spokesperson.

On Wednesday, the man killed was identified as Brian Cobb, 34.
