Man found dead in car on city’s near northwest side prompts IMPD investigation

IMPD investigation of male found dead at 21st and Dexter Street

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man has been found dead on the near northwest side of Indianapolis, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.

Just before 8:30 a.m. Saturday,  police were called to the 2100 block of North Dexter Street in response to a person who appeared to be unresponsive in a vehicle.

When officers arrived, they found a man who’d suffered trauma on his body. Indianapolis EMS pronounced him dead at the scene.

The Marion County Coroner’s Office later identified the victim as 21-year-old Daiontez Locke. His death was ruled a homicide.

IMPD said the investigation into Locke’s death is ongoing.
