‘Arranged’ fight leads to triple shooting on near south side

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.– An investigation is underway after three people were shot Tuesday on the near south side of Indianapolis.

The incident occurred just before 2:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Talbott Street, west of Madison Avenue.

Police say the incident started as an “arranged” fight between several people in the 20s.

Nobody was supposed to have a gun, but one person reportedly pulled a gun and shot at others.

One of the three victims is in serious condition, police said.

Officers have multiple people in custody and are not looking for additional suspects.

“It’s ridiculous that we have to be out here because you have adults acting like children who wanted to engage in a fight and now have sent three people to the hospital,” said IMPD Officer Ganae Cook.
