Amber Hardwick joined the FOX59 team in March 2018 as the weekend morning meteorologist. Amber was born and raised in Speedway, IN and takes a lot of pride in being a Sparkplug! Becoming a broadcast meteorologist in Indianapolis has been Amber’s dream since she was in third grade. She is thrilled to join the team and to forecast the weather in her hometown. Before arriving to FOX59, Amber was a meteorologist for WLFI in West Lafayette, IN.

At a young age, Amber was terrified of thunderstorms, but her fear turned into a life-long passion. She graduated from Ball State University with a B.S. degree in operational meteorology and climatology. While at Ball State, Amber was an executive board member of the Ball State Storm Chase Team and she also participated in a storm chasing summer course. The class involved chasing severe storms in the Great Plains for nearly two weeks!

Amber enjoys outdoor activities, running in 5Ks and walking her dog. She also likes to bake desserts when she has free time. Amber and her husband, Nick, are looking forward to living closer to family and friends in the Indianapolis area.

    A couple spotty showers moved over the Indianapolis area last night, but most of the rain fell over the northern tier of the state.
