Alexa Ross is thrilled to join the FOX59 sports team and call Indianapolis her new home.
She joins us from our Nexstar sister station in Rochester, New York, where she covered the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, AHL Rochester Americans, Triple-A Rochester Red Wings and more for two years. She spent three years total in Upstate New York and is not afraid of the snow.
Originally from the Philadelphia area, Alexa grew up an avid sports fan (college basketball and the NFL are her first loves) and pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism at Temple University (GO OWLS!)
There, she anchored and reported for Temple’s Emmy-award winning sports show, interned at NBC Sports Philadelphia and the Philadelphia Inquirer, and later worked as a production assistant for NBC Sports in PyeongChang during the 2018 Winter Olympics, specifically working on men’s and women’s ice hockey broadcasts.
When she’s not on-air, you can catch her watching Philadelphia sports, exploring downtown, finding new restaurants and bars, attending HIIT classes, visiting Butler Blue, and playing with her cat Theo.
If you see her, feel free to say hello! Email her with story ideas at firstname.lastname@example.org.
