  • Person shot, killed on city’s east side

    Just before 9 p.m. Friday night police were called to the 2100 block of Catherwood Avenue regarding a person being shot. When police arrived they found a man lying in the street after being shot several times. The man died was pronounced dead on the scene by paramedics. At this time, police are not releasing the man’s name or any circumstances involving the incident. Fox 59 will update this story as more information becomes available.

  • Skin infection found in Carmel HS locker room

     Carmel High School officials are preparing to take steps to prevent the spread of an infection at the school.   • City officials say $60 million reconstruction of Monument Circle needed to ensure safety, accessibility at iconic destination

    The City of Indianapolis is spending approximately $125,000 a year to replace broken bricks on Monument Circle, a cycle city officials admitted is not addressing the underlying issue of rapidly deteriorating infrastructure.   • One killed, one injured following shooting in Edinburgh

    One person is dead and another is injured following a Monday night shooting in Edinburgh. The shooting took place near East Center Cross Street and Franklin Street on the east side of the town. At this time, police are not releasing any more details on the shooting. Police have said that they are not actively looking for a suspect.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – A child is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle. The accident happened around 9:15 p.m. Friday night near the intersection of Southeastern Avenue and Shortridge road. The victim is a 12-year-old boy who was riding his bicycle home from a church festival.   • IMPD arrest man after child is assaulted with sledgehammer

    IMPD detectives have arrested a man they say hit an 8-year-old boy in the head with a sledgehammer. The assault on the child happened Wednesday night during an altercation in the 2700 block of Priscilla Avenue. Police arrested 38-year-old Alfred Amos on two charges of aggravated battery, both of which are felonies.   • IMPD officer involved in 2-car accident

    An IMPD officer was involved in a two car  accident Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred around 4 p.m. near the intersection of State Avenue and Hoyt Avenue on the city’s south side. Police say that the officer did not suffer any “life-threatening” injuries and will be evaluated. The condition of the other driver is unknown at this time. Fox59 has a crew on the scene and will update this story as more information becomes available.
