    In an effort to reduce or put an end to drunk driving, more than 250 law enforcement agencies in Indiana are launching a new push Friday in the “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign.     INDIANAPOLIS — The Hoosier Lottery announced overnight Thursday a winning $1 million Powerball ticket was sold in Indianapolis. However, no player nationally matched all six numbers.   • Police search for suspect in Fountain Square area homicide

    INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is searching for a suspect in connection with an early morning homicide Friday. Officers were dispatched to the 1000 block of Hosbrook Street, just north of Fountain Square, around 3 a.m. Once on scene, they found an unidentified victim suffering from a fatal gunshot wound.  Eight juveniles, toddler-aged and older, were inside the apartment at the time, police said.   • Fire damages near southwest side bar

    INDIANAPOLIS – Indianapolis firefighters battled an early morning fire on the near southwest side. Crews responded to the corner of West Morris Street and South Sheffield Avenue around 5:30 a.m. Friday. The fire was marked active before firefighters even arrived. Once on scene, firefighters found fire and smoke coming from the building. The fire is currently under investigation.

  • Morgan Co. child, 2, drowns in backyard pool

    MORGAN COUNTY, Ind. — Deputies with the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department are investigating the drowning of a toddler. Deputies responded to a home in the 11600 block of North Mann Road, north of Landersdale Road, around 10:15 p.m. Officials are still investigating the incident that occurred at a pool.     LAWRENCE, Ind. — Firefighters from Indianapolis and Lawrence responded to a fire at a northeast side golf course Thursday morning. Dispatchers received the first call around 3:30 a.m. When firefighters arrived, fire could be seen coming from the side and roof of the golf course clubhouse.     FORTVILLE, IND. — The Fortville police investigated an apparent shooting Thursday morning. Officers responded to the 100 block of Staat Street, near Landmark Park, to find a man sitting in the middle of the road with an apparent gunshot wound to the arm.
