Joe is an Indianapolis native, growing up on the south side and continuing to live there today. A graduate of Indiana University, he has previously worked in other Indiana markets such as Bloomington, Terre Haute and Brown County.

After some time reporting in other areas, Joe joined the FOX59/CBS4 team in March of 2022 and he is happy to be back in Naptown. He currently works for the station’s digital and assignment desks, working online and over the phone to report local crime, political and education news.

A die-hard Pacers fan, you can often find Joe downtown watching a game at Banker’s Life Fieldhouse or grabbing dinner and a beer at the Slippery Noodle. He is always down to catch a movie at AMC or play a game of pick-up basketball.

While he sometimes writes about local oddities, such as yaks or kangaroos on the loose, Joe is also proud of his more serious writing achievements. Throughout his short career, he has garnered numerous writing awards, including:

  • Regional Edward R. Murrow Award
    • FOX59 was awarded the Regional Edward R. Murrow Awards for Digital and Overall Excellence in Jan. 2022
  • Best multimedia story
    • Finished second in the HSPA’s ‘Best Multimedia Story’ award category in 2021 for a video, digital and print story on a Solidarity Rally for Racial Justice in Brown County.
  • Best Collegiate Sidebar Writing
    • Issued by the Columbia Press Association in April 2019
