    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Firefighters from five area fire departments battled a two-alarm fire at the Island Club Apartments Sunday night.     INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Miss Benton County Halle Shoults was crowned the 61st Indiana State Fair Queen at the Indiana State Fairgrounds Sunday. Shoults was selected over 84 other contestants after three days of judging.  The Indiana State Fair Queen will travel nearly 8,000 miles during June and July to some 45 counties to promote the Indiana State Fair, August 2-18, 2019.   • Man arrested after deadly stabbing of girlfriend

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man was arrested Monday after allegedly killing his girlfriend by stabbing her before trying to kill himself. The stabbing happened shortly before 6 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of Stevenson Street. Officers found the woman stabbed at the home. She was pronounced dead at the scene.   • 14 people overdose on ‘spice’ in downtown Indianapolis

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Metro police and medics had their hands full Saturday afternoon as they responded to multiple calls of a “person down” or possible overdose within a three block radius in the downtown area. Medics with IEMS say they responded to seven emergency medical runs in a three to four hour time frame. On Thursday, Indianapolis police responded to a report of a person shot at 1218 Grant Avenue.   • Governor declares flooding emergency for 11 counties

    INDIANAPOLIS–Widespread flooding has prompted Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb to issue a disaster emergency for 11 counties in Indiana. On Saturday the governor signed an executive order to include Carroll,  Dearborn,  Elkhart,  Lake, Marshall, Perry,  St. Joseph, Starke,  Switzerland and White Counties.
