  • At least one person dead after car crash on northeast side

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — At least one person is dead after a car crash at 71st Street, just west of Binford Avenue, late Friday night. The fatal accident happened a little after midnight in the 5300 block of 71st Street.  Police say the male driver swerved off the road, and struck a tree.   He was killed immediately. All northbound and southbound lanes closed until police finished investigating.

  • Boil Order Notice issued for Prince’s Lakes following water line break

    PRINCE’S LAKES, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Environmental Management Regulations is ordering residents of Prince’s Lakes in Johnson County to boil any water used for human consumption. The announcement comes after a water line break.  The city says they are in the process of taking bacteriological samples. The Boil Order Notice will last for three days.  It is recommended all cooking and drinking water be brought to a complete boil for five minutes before consumption.

    INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man driving his SUV on the railroad tracks plunged into a creek early Saturday morning. This happened a little after 12:30 a.m., around 901 E Pleasant Run Parkway South Drive on the city’s near south side. Police say the man was driving his vehicle on the railroad tracks going east at the intersection of Pleasant Run Parkway and Beecher.   • Plainfield man stabbed in abdomen

    PLAINFIELD, Ind.– Police are investigating why a young man was stabbed in Plainfield early this morning. Officers responded to reports of a stabbing at 610 Lakeside Drive in Plainfield around12:44 a.m. Upon entering the home, officers located a white male 19 years of age in the apartment bedroom with a stab wound to his abdomen.    Paramedics also responded to the scene and took the victim to Methodist Hospital.  This case is under investigation by Plainfield Detectives.     INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — A man is recovering at Methodist Hospital tonight after being shot in the buttocks. IMPD says a male customer entered the Hoot Package Liquor Store early Sunday morning to make a purchase. He got into a verbal argument with the female clerk.     GREENFIELD, Ind. — Indiana Conservation Officers are investigating the accidental shooting of a Greenfield man this evening.
