UPDATE: Columbus police took two suspects into custody in connection with the shooting. More details are set to be released Wednesday.

COLUMBUS, Ind. — Four people were shot Tuesday night at a park in Bartholomew County with 3 victims now in “very critical” condition at an Indianapolis hospital.

The Columbus Police Department said officers were called around 7:35 p.m. to the Lincoln Park basketball court near Hamilton Center for shots fired.

Upon arrival, CPD Lt. Matt Harris said officers found that four people were shot in Lincoln Park.

Three of the victims are being transported from Columbus Regional Hospital by helicopter to Indianapolis. Those three victims are listed in “very critical” condition, CRH confirmed around 10:30 p.m.

A fourth victim, CHR said, has not yet been admitted to the hospital and is listed in stable condition.

CPD was not immediately able to provide any information on the age or gender of the victims.

Lt. Harris added around 8:40 p.m. that no suspects are in custody at this time.

“Hamilton Center as well as the park and ball fields at Lincoln Park are currently closed as law enforcement officers continue their investigation,” Columbus PD said on Facebook around 9:20 p.m.
