GREENWOOD, Ind. — Two juveniles were taken to the hospital after being pulled from a retention pond in Greenwood.
Just after 7:50 p.m. Wednesday, emergency crews responded to a call of multiple people in a retention pond near Edgewater Drive and Apryl Drive.
A dive team was called to the scene due to there being a report of multiple victims in the water.
Two female juveniles were recovered about ten minutes apart (8:05 p.m. and 8:15 p.m.) from water that was about 15 feet deep, according to Chad Tatman, PIO for Greenwood Fire.
The victims were transported to Franciscan Health Hospital and Community South in critical condition.
Tatman also said that three people were out of the water as well on the scene but left before emergency crews arrived. Those three people are said to be okay.
The investigation is ongoing, and updates will be released as they become available.
