INDIANAPOLIS — There are four common responses to stress: fight, flight, freeze and fawn, according to Danielle Ireland, a licensed therapist and mental health counselor.

Take a look at the descriptions below — which one most accurately describes you?

Stress responses normal because our brains and bodies are wired to keep us safe, Ireland said, but they’re intended to be short and sometimes we get stuck in them too long.

Ireland offered three tips below to break the stress cycle if you’re stuck. These simple tricks will help your body work through stress and give your brain the message that everything is OK.

She’s also offering a discount on her “Treasure Journal,” which makes journaling easier by giving you prompts, rather than blank pages. Use the code ‘INDYNOW’ for 20% off.
