Local doctor discusses nationwide coronavirus surge

INDIANAPOLIS — The delta variant continues to cause a surge in U.S. coronavirus cases.

Community transmission is high in most of the country.

According to the CDC, the seven-day average of daily new cases is 130,121, which is 1,016.8% higher than the lowest average in June.

Dr. Christopher Belcher, medical director of infection prevention at Ascension St. Vincent Indianapolis, discusses the latest on the pandemic.
