Neurologist discusses link between teen obesity and increased risk of stroke as an adult

CARMEL — May is American Stroke Month.

A new study from the American Heart Association finds a higher body mass index in adolescence is associated with a significantly increased risk of a stroke as an adult.

Dr. Jerry Smartt, a neurologist on the American Heart Association’s board of directors, discusses these findings.
